Imaginatorium - Escape from The Room, Prague 2

We were invited to a birthday party at Imaginatorium, where your kids disappear somewhere behind a wall, get locked in a room and have to use the elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles and escape within a set time limit. Meanwhile us parents enjoyed coffee, wine and a chat. I love this idea!

A great fact: They run the maze in several languages: Czech, English, German and Russian.

Our kids were aged 9 to 12 years and they were split into 2 groups (boys and girls - I guess boys didn’t want to be distracted). Each of the group was in a different room and…. all of them have completed the mission!
Can you????

I loved the fact it was a private function, no other people to mix with. The birthday boy’s family brought in their own pastries and they ordered some finger food. They have a satisfying scope of beverages too, priced normally.

We, the parents, hung around the cafe area relaxing on fat boy beanbags.

When the kids came out, we celebrated the birthday boy, the staff played music on demand and they had a mini disco. I loved the service and the staff. Nothing was a problem, they kept filling our empty glasses, they were kind to the kids, they let the parents into the secret rooms during the mission to check on the kids (and to peak in, I was very curious what it looks like inside the rooms).

The kids were even allowed to take refreshment into the rooms. Everything felt easy and comfortable.

My husband experienced THE ROOM in Brussels (I think) and he gave the kids some valuable tips. It is important to work as a team. One person should focus on writing down the clues only. Due to the time limit one individual cannot work it alone. He said they lost 30 min before they realised nobody actually remembers all the clues and had to start again.

SOME HISTORY:
An escape room is a physical adventure game in which players are locked in a room and have to use elements of the room to solve a series of puzzles and escape within a set time limit, or having completed a mission. The games are physical versions of “escape the room” video games. Games are set in a variety of fictional locations, such as prison cells, dungeons and space stations, and are popular as team building exercises. This game concept was created in Japan.
