Kids Buggy and Ferrari Rides for Dads, Pribram

We have a good tip for boys,What a blast! Just 30 min away from Prague there is Pribram Airport where you can spend some exiting family time. It all started when I purchased a Ferrari ride for my Hubby. When we arrived we discovered they do Buggy rides for Kids 3-12 years. Our Boys 5 and 6 and Daddy were thrilled. Apart from they offer bowling and Tandem Jumps…I WOULD!! I’ve already had to promise my boys we’ll go back, but only in exchange for some tiding up and being quiet when Mommy sleeps :-)

I am definitely going to pack up the kids in a weeks time and go back to Pribram for some more Kids Buggy Riding. Its very easy to get here. Just exit Prague towards Strakonice direction. In around 30 min from Andel you will be there.

Apart from the Ferrari rides you can also rent a Hummer, Quad or Kids buggy. They’ve just set up a new course out of old tires for the Kids Buggy and it can be very easily driven and navigated. The Buggy has an accelerator and brake. If your kids have ridden an electric car, this is just one level up. Even if they haven’t its very easy to pick up. We saw some girls there enjoying it just as much as the boys.

They do run special offers all the time and on this day we payed 50czk per 5 min. We took 20 min and payed 200czk. I must say it wasn’t enough for our Boys, they could have gone on and on. It probably safer to make a reservation for the weekends. We were lucky to get 20 min in between families who had booked 40 min time frames. It was Sunday. We were advised to book weekends 1 week ahead. During the week it it usually free and you can just rock up. The Pribram Airport has 2 ends and on both of them they rent sport cars. As newcomers we ended up at the upper-main part of the Airport. The Kids Buggy and our Ferrari ride was however at the bottom part of the Airport and we had to drive 2 km further down – returning to the road where we came from. So watch out. If you want to go to the Kids Buggy and Quad rides drive down the R4 Highway, take the first EXIT towards Pribram and follow the Airport signs. You will end up on a parallel road with the highway going back towards Prague. When you see the first sign to the left saying AIRPORT (Letiste) and the road will lead to the tunnel under the highway – don’t go there. That is the Main part of the Airport with Tandem Jumps, bowling and the other Car rental company. I will come back to that later. Keep on going to the village: Dlouha Lhota. Take first turn to the left onto a bridge over the Highway R4. That is your location.

Here you have to visit the registration tent where you pay and arrange details. Many people come here with Vouchers from discounted webs already. If you don’t have one – you can ask for a discount or see what is the offer that day.

It is very popular in Czech Republic to buy vouchers with great discounts for all kinds of activities, restaurants and goods. The most famous one in Czech Republic would be slevomat.cz or limeandtonic.cz for expats. In the past year I managed to get some really good deals for restaurants, indoor playgrounds, cosmetics and fitness and I became regular customer. This is how I purchased the Ferrari Ride Voucher for my husband at Christmas. The original price was 1499 Czk and I payed half of it.

The ride isn’t long really. Its just an experience. The ride from this company lasts around 3 minutes actually… and it all happens right there on the airport ring. You can book more of the rides but also you have to pay for them. The course is 2250 m long ring but in a Ferrari…the voucher is spent in no time….

The other company in the first part of the Airport is called rentcarsupersport.cz and they have many more cars to rent for 30 min…. you also drive out to the country side and then you return back to the airport runways where you continue testing the power of the sports car. We already purchased a voucher for this ride :-) and its MINE this time. All you need is a driving licence for the given group B. You pay no retainer or other deposit. For driving in their supersports you will receive guidance from the driving instructors before the drive itself, then you alone will be behind the wheel! Non-drivers don’t loose out either, you can enjoy the experience as a passenger together with the instructor.

I am also tempted by the HUMMER Safari ride..anybody here has Hummer ??? :-)

On this day they were selling the ride for 890czk + 400czk fuel for 30 min on the spot. During the week they claimed it costs 500czk more and the official price is 1000czk more…This voucher we bought is valid for a 2nd class of sports cars they have (not that I like the sound of it) such as: Corvette Z06, Aston Martin DB9, Porsche Tanamera Turbo, Porsche 911 Turbo, Nissan GT-R, … if you want the Lamborgini or Ferrari – it takes 2 x same voucher….Official prices on web are double, but… you can always get some deal on the discounted webs or during their Happy Hours.

You should book it ahead. When we were there they didn’t have any more rides free that day. I was actually quite surprised how popular the rides are and how many people there were. The main area of the Airport has a hotel with a restaurant with bowling. It was quite chilly outside that day so we appreciated the restaurant very much. It has a little play area for kids and you can see the airport and the take-offs like on TV in front of you. Since we had some time to kill before our Kids Buggy ride - we spent 1 hour bowling with boys.

I have to admit all my men were happy that day. The Big Guy got his Adrenalin Ferrari ride meanwhile the boys watched with excitement and then they got their own riding experience. It made them so happy I didn’t even have to cook that day :-)

You can also recommend this place to anybody who would be looking for an interesting venue for a company party or teambuilding. These unique driving experiences in sports cars and other activities can be provided within a commercial framework as a motivation programme. The airport complex includes the Hotel Cavok and an airport restaurant with outside beer garden where they provide grilling as well. Within the hotel they offer further activities such as the already mentioned 3-lane bowling alley, 3D golf simulators and billiards table. To all this you can enjoy Tandem jumps, sightseeing flights and acrobatic flights.

During our stay several planes took off and landed which was also an extra bonus attraction for the kids.
