Dear KIP (KidsInPrague) Readers and Members,
It’s Christmas again ! Love, fellowship and togetherness make the Christmas season all the more special.Christmas also means spreading the warmth of our heart into the lives of others and bringing in joy and cheers. So this Christmas, let these special Christmas moments fill up Your hearts.
Our KIP TEAM wishes you a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
May You all be healthy and happy and may you have many happy moments with your loved ones.
After all, we are survivors of the END of the World :-)

My Christmas this Year is clouded with the happening in US - the shooting. Badly. My brain just does not comprehend. Yet again, dying Kids in Africa of hunger or Kids suffering and families all around the world due to wars or poverty happen every day. This World isn’t perfect. That is why we have to appreciate what we have every day. The best way we can. For our Children. We all have a small role in this World.

This Christmas we have decided to take it easy on presents for Kids. I have realised we must do this few months ago. We went to Turkey for an expensive holiday to a 5* property, All inclusive. We did it all for the sake of our precious KIDS. The resort was filled up with Families with Kids with iPads, Spiderman Toys, latest fashion bathing suits… and believe me…. I have not seen so many bored and spoiled Kids ever. Including ours. This made me thing a lot and Me, my Husband and my Mom, we decided we will take it easy this Year on Christmas and make it as it used to be. More traditional, with games and a bit more fun rather than mad attack of endless presents.

Give our KIDS some space to see the colours of the Christmas tree, enjoy the taste of the dinner and see US. Family all together. Maybe it is a time to go back to the roots.

Sorry, I do not mean to preach. I know me-myself I am quite commercial person who wants to give THE BEST to my Kids. Lets face it, it is hard not to give them what they want if you have the possibilities - that we didn’t have before. But more and more I realise, I am killing their little sense for imagination and overwhelming them with materialism. I am being challenged as a mother nearly every day - to not to get hem this and that. Our KIDS room is filled up with toys they don’t even play with. Maybe… it is time to slow down a bit and let them use their fantasy and let them long for things as I used to. I phrase anybody who already realised this and managed to find a healthy balance.

All I am doing is I am sharing my thoughts with parents on Christmas :-) I know there are many families out there who went through this already and know what to do :-) I am still puzzled on what is the right measure of materialism for my Kids and how can I make them to see the bigger picture :-) Maybe, this all doesn’t matter as far as we love our Kids unconditionally and hug them enough for them to feel safe. At the end of the day all parents want the best for their Kids no matter how they do it.

I really wish to all the families will find peace this Christmas and they will share LOTS LOTS LOTS of love. No matter the presents, no matter the great food, just pure LOVE.
Because at the end of the day. If all goes….  all we can give and costs nothing… is LOVE.
