Merry Christmas, Veselé Vánoce!
Well what a beautiful month we’ve had. The big freeze bought with it gorgeous snow, wardrobe and logistical challenges prior to work and school. Gloves, hats, waterproof pants, jackets and boots - our hallway resembles a jumble sale at the end of the day. Add to this Christmas concerts, kindergarten carols, ice skating, sledding, baking and visiting the Christmas Markets we’ve all been rather busy but happy as Christmas Day approaches.
For us, the walk to school through the local park has been fun, despite it being so dark when we leave home with our eldest, Ari leaves half an hour later and by then we have some kind of light - for the past week the best way to get him to school has been on the back of a sled - which he of course loves! We have also enjoyed walking though Mala Strana and Petrin Hill under snow taking photos of a landscape that is little changed in the last 500 years!
Darina has been very busy with her mum and mother-in-law baking a huge range of traditional Christmas biscuits for her friends and family and has also been treating her boys to regular iceskating throughout December. It’s a fantastic way to tire out active boys!!
Anyway, with Christmas fast approaching we would like to wish you all a very happy and fun holiday season - and safe travels to wherever you need to be!
And as I write this i’m back in my home town of Sydney, Australia - you cannot find a bigger contrast to Prague at the moment. Despite my southern location we will continue to publish once a week throughout the holidays, beginning 7 January. There are still more interesting stories and activities suitable for the cold weather that we must share with you so please keep an eye out for these.
Again, all the best and good health to you and your families and thank you for your support reading our blog!
